Genuine BMW part 64 11 8 384 379: Expansion valve. The number stamped on the part is 64118384379; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8384379. You will find it on our AC & Climate Control shelf, under Other Heater and Air Conditioning parts. It supersedes the older number 8372436, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them Heater Radiator/Evaporator/Wden Cable (64_0555) and Evaporator / Expansion valve (64_0651). It weighs about 140 g (0.3 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
