01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW exchange starter motor, part number 12 41 2 354 709. The number stamped on the part is 12412354709; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2354709. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Starter motor with mounting. It supersedes the older number 2344247, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them Starter (12_0630) and Starter (12_1092).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
