This is a genuine BMW exchange 6 speed sequential gearbox, part number 23 00 2 228 817. The number stamped on the part is 23002228817; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2228817. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Manual gearbox parts. It supersedes the older number 2228312, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe and convertible (M3, 1996–1999), with the S50 engine.

BMW draws it on the Manual gearbox S6S 420G (SMG) (23_0236) diagram. It weighs about 49 kg (108 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
