Genuine BMW part 21 21 1 223 408: Pressure plate (exchange unit). The number stamped on the part is 21211223408; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1223408. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch-Pressure Plate”. You will find it on our Clutch & Flywheel shelf, under Clutch with drive plate. It supersedes the older number 1223280, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 8.7 kg (19 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Set Rmfd-clutch parts asbestos-free (1223413).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
