This is a genuine BMW mechatronics (exchange unit), part number 24 34 7 571 221. The number stamped on the part is 24347571221; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7571221. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH Mechatronics”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 7571153, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7571246.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 8.1 kg (18 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
