This is a genuine BMW DVD changer (exchange unit), part number 65 12 9 209 762. The number stamped on the part is 65129209762; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9209762. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch. DVD changer”. You will find it on our Instruments & Electronics shelf, under Radio, amplifier, CD player. It supersedes the older number 9195980, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 9243419.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 1.5 kg (3.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
