This is a genuine BMW control unit SMG (exchange unit), part number 24 61 1 407 225. The number stamped on the part is 24611407225; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1407225. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch Control Unit Smg”. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1406740, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
