This is a genuine BMW control unit DME programmed (exchange unit), part number 12 14 7 542 133. The number stamped on the part is 12147542133; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7542133. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7540730, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7553832.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and compact (316i and 316ti, 2004), with the N45 engine.

BMW draws it on the Repl.control unit DME programmed / EK924 (12_1134) diagram.
