Control unit DME programmed (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 12 14 7 528 688. The number stamped on the part is 12147528688; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7528688. BMW's catalog calls it “EXCH control unit DME programmed”. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 7513648, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E46 sedan, coupe and convertible (323i, 1999–2000), with the M52 engine — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on the Control unit DME, programmed (12_0897) diagram. It weighs about 600 g (1.3 lb).
