-Auxiliary transmission (exchange unit) — a genuine BMW part, number 27 00 1 226 464. The number stamped on the part is 27001226464; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1226464. BMW's catalog calls it “Exch.-AUXILIARY TRANSMISSION”. It supersedes the older number 1226373, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1226649.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 27 kg (60 lb).
