Engine speed sensor — a genuine BMW part, number 24 35 7 507 706. The number stamped on the part is 24357507706; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7507706. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Other Automatic transmission parts. It supersedes the older number 1423585, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i, 1999–2006), with the M52 or M54 engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them A4S200R sealing, input shaft/speed sensor (24_0973) and A5S360R/390R seals/speed sensor (24_0997). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 19 g (under 0.1 lb).
