Genuine BMW part 51 71 3 452 198: Emergency wheel lowering mechanism. The number stamped on the part is 51713452198; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 3452198. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 7030510, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 compact (316ti, 318td, 318ti, 320td and 325ti, 2001–2004), with the M47N, M54, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on 2 diagrams, among them Single Parts F Emergency Wheel Mounting (51_4545) and Space saver spare tyre cup (51_5191). It weighs about 130 g (0.3 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
