EC conformity certificate — a genuine BMW part, number 01 99 0 038 917. The number stamped on the part is 01990038917; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 0038917. You will find it on our Supplies & Hardware shelf, under Aftersales Service Miscell.multi-lingual. It supersedes the older number 0038500, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i, 1999–2004), with the M43, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.

BMW draws it on 7 diagrams, among them EC conformity certificate (01_1128) and EC conformity certificate (01_1129). It weighs about 1 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
