Dowel — a genuine BMW part, number 11 11 1 743 118. The number stamped on the part is 11111743118; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1743118. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Engine block. It supersedes the older number 1726239, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 168 diagrams, among them Flywheel / Twin Mass Flywheel (11_1151) and Flywheel automatic (11_1152). It also comes in BMW kits Set mounting parts (0152674) and Parts Set (7743793) and 1 more.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
