This is a genuine BMW double pipe, part number 64 53 8 390 557. The number stamped on the part is 64538390557; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8390557. You will find it on our AC & Climate Control shelf, under Other Heater and Air Conditioning parts. It supersedes the older number 1385150, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i and 328i, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 5 diagrams, among them Coolant lines (64_0716) and Coolant lines (64_0759). It weighs about 255 g (0.6 lb). It also comes in BMW kit Installing Set Automatic Air Conditioner (9405891).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
