This is a genuine BMW decompression lever, part number 11 31 8 540 965. The number stamped on the part is 11318540965; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8540965. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under CAMSHAFT. It supersedes the older number 7700209, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7715302.
