This is a genuine BMW covering Upper, part number 51 71 8 119 045. The number stamped on the part is 51718119045; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8119045. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 8135948, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits every E36 body style (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 3 diagrams, among them Air duct (51_2048) and Air duct (51_2112). It weighs about 480 g (1.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
