Covering plate — a genuine BMW part, number 11 14 2 243 305. The number stamped on the part is 11142243305; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2243305. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Housing cover. It supersedes the older number 1432367, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.

BMW draws it on 17 diagrams, among them Engine block mounting parts (11_1161) and Engine block mounting parts (11_1468). It weighs about 280 g (0.6 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
