This is a genuine BMW cover film, part number 51 71 8 102 827. The number stamped on the part is 51718102827; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8102827. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Other Body equipment parts. It supersedes the older number 1867868, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E46 sedan, coupe, convertible and touring (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them BMW Performance aerodynamics, sill (03_0142) and Retrofit kit M aerodyn. package (03_1604). It also comes in BMW kits BMW Performance aero kit, sill, pr (0442893) and BMW Performance aero kit, sill, painted (0445642).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
