Cover electronic-box — a genuine BMW part, number 12 52 1 735 108. The number stamped on the part is 12521735108; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1735108. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1724639, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318ti, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M44, M50, M52 or S52 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the DMC Cover and Mounting Parts (12_0496) diagram. It weighs about 160 g (0.4 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
