09 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Cover, basic backrest, cloth — a genuine BMW part, number 52 10 9 172 575. The number stamped on the part is 52109172575; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9172575. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Tail trim. It supersedes the older number 9172573, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7255020.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
BMW draws it on the Seat, front, cushion and cover (52_3482) diagram. It weighs about 710 g (1.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
