02 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Cover — a genuine BMW part, number 12 42 1 734 562. The number stamped on the part is 12421734562; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1734562. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older number 1734005, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 sedan (318i, 1992–1998), with the M40 engine — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Battery Cable(battery Front) (12_1976) diagram.
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
