It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i and 325i, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i, 1999–2004), with the M43, N40, N42, N45 or N46 engines.
BMW draws it on 4 diagrams, among them S5D...G housing + mounting parts (23_0234) and S5D...G housing + mounting parts (23_1181). BMW's catalog calls for five of these at each place it is fitted.
