01 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→Console — a genuine BMW part, number 51 16 8 186 102. The number stamped on the part is 51168186102; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 8186102. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Mirrors, trims, storage compartments. It supersedes the older number 8197988, so a part carrying that number is the same part.
It fits the E36 compact (318ti, 1995–1999), with the M42 or M44 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the Centre console (51_2166) diagram. It weighs about 732 g (1.6 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
