This is a genuine BMW collar screw, part number 11 12 7 568 809. The number stamped on the part is 11127568809; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7568809. You will find it on our Engine shelf, under Cylinder head with cover. It supersedes the older number 1721877, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti and M3, 1992–1999), with the M42, M43, M44 or S50 engines — and the European-market versions. It also fits the E46 sedan, coupe and touring (316i, 316i 1.6, 316i 1.9 and 318i, 1997–2001), with the M43 engine.

BMW draws it on 14 diagrams, among them Cylinder head cover (11_0264) and Cylinder head cover (11_1271). It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb).

We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
