The number stamped on the part is 12147518628; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 7518628. You will find it on our Electrical shelf, under Other Engine Electrical System parts. It supersedes the older numbers 1438082 and 7506273, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 compact (316i 1.9, 1999), with the M43 engine. It also fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Timing Case (11_2063) and Cylinder head Vanos (11_2170). It weighs about 30 g (under 0.1 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
