It supersedes the older number 9405440, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 7160798.
It fits every E36 body style (318i, 318ti, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and M3, 1992–1999), with the M40, M42, M43, M44, M50 or M52 and other engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on 11 diagrams, among them Install.kit turn indicators, front, white (03_2213) and Install.kit turn indicators, front, white (03_2214). BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted.
