Blower unit — a genuine BMW part, number 17 40 1 360 231. The number stamped on the part is 17401360231; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1360231. You will find it on our Cooling System shelf, under Oil cooler / circuits. It supersedes the older number 1466002, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 1357252.
BMW's catalog records no E36 or E46 it is fitted to; it belongs to other BMW models.
It weighs about 2.3 kg (5.0 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
