This is a genuine BMW bent selector rod, part number 25 11 1 222 230. The number stamped on the part is 25111222230; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 1222230. You will find it on our Transmission shelf, under Gearshift. It supersedes the older number 1222231, so a part carrying that number is the same part.

It fits the E36 sedan, coupe, convertible and compact (318i and 318ti, 1992–1999), with the M42 engine.

BMW draws it on the Gearshift, mechanical transmission (25_0577) diagram. It weighs about 195 g (0.4 lb).
