07 View BMW DiagramSee this part on the official exploded view→This is a genuine BMW backrest-cap, part number 52 10 2 259 834. The number stamped on the part is 52102259834; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 2259834. You will find it on our Interior Body shelf, under Tail trim. It supersedes the older numbers 2251815 and 2251816, so a part carrying any of them is the same part.
It fits the E36 coupe (M3, 1995), with the S50 engine.
BMW draws it on the Pad/Seat Pan of BMW Sports Seat (52_2211) diagram. BMW's catalog calls for two of these at each place it is fitted. It weighs about 2.7 kg (6.0 lb).
We have not had one on the shelf yet. Request it and we will tell you when one comes off a car.
