This is a genuine BMW auxiliary heating, part number 64 50 9 415 874. The number stamped on the part is 64509415874; BMW's catalog files it under the short number 9415874. You will find it on our AC & Climate Control shelf, under Compressor, magnetic clutch. It supersedes the older number 9405315, so a part carrying that number is the same part. BMW has since replaced it with 0008791.
It fits every E46 body style (320i, 323i and 325i, 1999–2006), with the M52, M54 or M56 engines — and the European-market versions.
BMW draws it on the BMW type approval (01_0642) diagram. BMW lists the quantity used as “as required”. It weighs about 7.9 kg (17 lb).
